Somehow, old people wearing glasses just don't cut it in this dance. But it is a great try. Enjoy.

Joining The Deaf Community at Philbrook

Philbrook has special memories for Ken and myself. We dated on the grounds back in the fifties. We took Sommer and Dan's engagement photos in the gardens when they were still in college.
So when Philbrook provided a free guided tour of their Egyptian display for the Deaf community and friends, Ken and I decided to go.
It is a small educational and interesting display. Along with the mummies, there were snacks and drinks on this very hot summer day. (Our car registered 108.) Ken took his walker for better comfort. And as we were leaving, we decided to purchase a membership in order to return several more times. With a membership to both Philbrook, Gilcrease and the Tulsa Zoo, we are becoming cultured in our senior years!

A Weekend while visiting the Sick Papa ... who is better now that they are here.
Blakely and Babe play tug of war. They both had such a fun time together.
Mama Jennifer is getting read for an evening out but gives Blakely a good by snuggle.
Daddy Joel is conducting the wedding this evening. The Quick Trip attendent loved Joels cuff links -- thought he must be a limo driver. When they got home, they had quiet a story about the wedding experience.
I remember this exact same facial expression on O'Neal.
Three cousins on a swing with the Babe. Rosemary, Sydney and Lily.

A Fall Outing at Disney on Ice ... opening of Tulsa State Fair
I thought
I was ready to outgrow the Tulsa State Fair at the point I did not have to escort my children to the fair anymore. I still manage to go for small amounts of time.
And I do enjoy the Ice Show. Ken and I arranged an outing with the Oklahoma Grandkids. You might guess Ken's favorite was the turquoise finned Chevy in the Cars production. Lion King is always my favorite. I love the music and the costumes were so creative --- such fun. However, I'll have to agree that the ending with Tinkerbell bringing on Spring was pretty spectacular.![]()

For more information you can check out the Grandkid blog http://grandkidsonly.blogspot.com/ I can not get these pages to lay out properly. I can not control the text or the picture. I need a blogging lesson ...... Big time! Click on the photos to see more clearly. The one of the flowers is pretty amazing. Also see where Kayla brought the girls a display of some of her friends which she brought back from her summer vacation at Disney World. That black cat in Rosie's hand, Kayla had won but gave to Rosie. Kayla is such a hoot. You can anlso see April and Susie in the group.![]()

What a difference a week can make

We got a new roof -- and the guttering is yet to come. The insurance adjuster forgot to measure the sun room so the roofer was back to confirm the need for more tiles. And then Saturday was beautiful. Ken is still playing with the new lens for his Cannon.
Here are those same plants which were frozen last week. Isn't God amazing! A constant reminder of our own human ability to bounce back.
Today we are listening to music by Fernando Ortega. So calming and peaceful today. Fernando was at our church this weekend. Ken bought two Cd's -- that means it is music 'older codgers' enjoy.

Snow Today in Asheville, NC
The Report is that the Colliers went sledding down their neighborhood hills today. Carson lasted 30 minutes before he was too cold and Ava enjoyed the sledding with Daddy (Dan) for an hour. What great memories for precious children. Man, I miss those little angels. But it is great to know that they are healthy, well and having a great time. Click to enlarge if you really want to see those rosie red cheeks.
